1. Talk! - SU - Gromit Room (4th floor) - Tuesday 30th January - 6:30
TALK ON TUESDAY:

Something slightly different this week - see you there!

Photosoc legend Barney Couch is back for one night only with a fascinating trip through 60 years of photographers from Japan. The country’s singularly strong culture of photography and tradition of gallery, cooperative, and photobook, makes the work you’ll see exceptionally diverse and often startling. Covering everything from Ken Domon to Masao Yamamoto this will be accessible and thought-provoking. Barney is also happy to run some informal portfolio reviews afterwards, so bring your work along if you fancy some insightful critique.

The facebook event can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1892057391105082/

6:30pm in the Gromit room this Tuesday! :D

4. Darkroom
Hello,

So with the new term, we have decided to introduce C-41 development into the darkroom for everyone to use! And only for 1.50 a roll!

This should be up and running by mid-February and will require a second more extensive induction for those wishing to use the facilities. You have to be confident developing black and white by yourself for C-41 due to us no covering a lot of stuff I'm going to presume you already now to focus on tracking the chemical life, logging uses, etc. I shall post in the PhotoSoc darkroom page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1424868980860591/) when we shall start taking people for inductions and all payments will be done beforehand through the PhotoSoc website (more information later).

This will allow you to have much greater control over your color negatives as well as providing a cheap and (relatively) quick way of pushing or pulling C-41 film. PLus it will save you plenty of money in the long run.

If you have any questions, as always about anything, please email darkroom@ubuphotosoc.com.
