Hello everyone,
It's been a hectic last few weeks so please let me apologise for the delay in delivering the results of the last two competitions to you. The judges did a great job and they were on time but I was stopped for a number of reasons, the least stressful of them being the exhibition last week.
So, without further ado let's get to the last two heats.
The Spring winners are:
1st place - Rajitha Ratnam
2nd place - George Karadontis
3rd place - Abhinav Kumar Garg
Well done and thanks so much for all the happy Spring entries! You can see the whole set here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/15436885@N08/sets/72157623773264280/
Our last theme was an open competition and you have shown us some amazing work! It was a tough call and we disagreed a lot but finally managed to arrive with a list of winners:
1st place - Marie Claire Oziem
2nd place - Temi Gocheva
3rd place - Heather Parker.
You can see all (really good!) pictures from this theme here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/15436885@N08/sets/72157623773264280/
Also we're very proud to announce the winners of the 3 competition categories this year.
Nick Fyson won the Competition overall. He gathered most points and scored highest on average.
Wu Youzhou's Colour image was chosen by the Committee as their favourite photo. You can see it here: (http://www.flickr.com/photos/15436885@N08/4074149601/in/set-72157622606788481/)
Jack Mitchell's portrait was voted "Public Choice" best picture by the people who turned up to the exhibition (check it out here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/15436885@N08/4152058791/in/set-72157622794350491/). Other notable mentions included Temi Gocheva and Marie Claire Oziem who also received lots of votes. Well done everyone and thanks for taking part!
And finally let me just thank everyone who made it to the exhibition in the Mandela Bar last Tuesday. We had tremendous fun and really enjoyed meeting you guys in person and discussing photos and much more with you! In case you couldn't make it to the exhibition last week, you'll be happy to know that a selection of our winning pictures is on display in Bar 100 until the end of next week. So go and enjoy!
Cheers and thanks so much for all the competition fun this year,
Olga
