Hello Photosocers!,

On this weeks edition of the Photosoc newsletter:

1. A photographic based joke for your amusement!

2. Coffee social - Wednesday the 10th, 4pm, Papjis

4. Fortnightly Competition continues... Will you win?

1. So I have promised you a joke (well done for reading this far into the email by the way).

So, this photographer gets invited to a friends house for a dinner party. He brings a some new photographs with him to show his host. The host looks at the photographs and exclaims, "These are wonderful! You must have a very good camera." The photographer says thank you and the evening continues.

After dinner, the photographer turns to his host and remarks, "The food was wonderful, you must own some very good pots and pans."

Moral of the story anyone can achieve anything with any kind od camera so go take some pretty pictures and bring them along to a coffee social. Which coincientally brings me on to my next point!


2. Coffee Social - Wednesday 10th March

As usual this will be held in Papajis from 4pm this Wednesday. Its a chance to have a chat about anything (sometimes it even has some photographic chat!)


3. Talks

There is unfortunately no talk this week as we were unable to get a room booking for thursday evening from the union. But don't worry as next Thursday (the 18th) Laura will be telling us all about the history of photography including where it came from and how it evolved to the place it is at today.


4. Competitions

Last but not least on this wistle stop tour of Photosoc this week is competitions.

New Competition Theme: Spring!

Yes, guys it is almost spring and some if you look close enough you will see evidence for it. So how about a seasonal competition. This fortnight's theme is SPRING. This is the last competition this term and probably one of the last ones this year before the Grand Annual Exhibition. So get out into the sun and find us some spring. There's no right or wrong way of viewing spring so send us your photographic interpretation to competitions@ubuphotosoc.com. Remember to put your name as the file name and that the photo cannot be older than 18 months. The deadline is the 21st of March (Sunday).
