Talk - Photography Law TONIGHT!

Posted on March 4, 2010, 5:12 am by Jamie Corbin.
Hi all,

Just a quick reminder that I'm giving a talk on various aspects of the law surrounding photography tonight in the Union - Room MR5D starting 8pm.

I'll be talking about who and where you are allowed to photograph, and some of the things you can't do. I'll also be looking at Copyright - who owns photos and what are you and other people allowed to do with them. I'll give a quick overview of releases (Models/property etc.) - what to do when you need written permission to use photographs of people or places. Finally as its a fairly hot topic at the moment (in the world of photography law at least!) I'll explain some of the current police powers, including the dreaded Section 44, and your rights in response to them.

I'm aware legal stuffs can get boring, so I'll try and keep it snappy! Hopefully no longer than 45 minutes - then I insist we move to the bar for any and all questions!

Hope to see you all later!

Jamie Corbin
